Deacon Patti is a native of Savannah, Georgia, married to Rod, a retired Naval aviator. They have two grown, married daughters and 3 grandchildren. She graduated from Roanoke College with a B.A. in Psychology and has completed Kerygma, EFM, The Virginia Institute for Spiritual Direction, and the North Carolina Deacon Formation Program. She was ordained at Old Donation Church in 1999 and served for 6 years as Archdeacon by the bishop’s appointment. She has previously served at St. Paul’s, Norfolk, Church of the Advent, Norfolk, and Galilee Church, Virginia Beach. She is a published poet and co-author of Searching the Heart of God: Deacon and Priest in Conversation. In 2006 she received the John Hines Preaching Award from Virginia Theological Seminary.
